Wednesday - Weird, Wacky, Wonderful

Hello weird, wacky, and sometimes wonderful Wednesday. Albino hummingbird spotted in Alabama Nov 11th. A strange monolith was discovered while counting sheep(!) in a remote area of Utah. The CDC may modify quarantine recommendations from 14 down to 7-10 days. My HSA card vanished, replacement ordered. Many young people are rejecting established religion, maybe calling themselves "spiritual but not religious". You know how some people just want attention, any attention? TOB continues to lie, and takes credit for the record high investment indexes. If it weren't so sad, it would be funny. Happy Thanksgiving eve, everyone.

Hummers are headed to a small area of Central America (map - some western ones to southern California, though not the ruby throated, AFAIK). Photo text: “It stayed in our neighborhood for about a week. Wonderful to see! My first albino hummingbird!” Photo: Christine (Owens Cross Roads, AL; 11/11/2020)". They can handle brief periods of chilly weather by going into torpor. Illegal logging continues to be a problem in protected monarch sanctuary areas in Mexico. "There's no other work, they need to eat" says a guide when asked why people do this. I guess being a guide throughout the sanctuary areas can only employ so many? Who says global poverty isn't a global issue? Robins have been heading south from here in northern Maryland. I haven't seen one in a while. The winter birds have been sporadically arriving. Winter is coming, blech! I love nature, I adore nature, I respect nature -- I hate the cold though, LOL!

Hahaha, counting sheep! Actually long horn sheep and/or mountain goats, but putting it that way just sounds too funny to me. Authorities are guessing the weird obelisk is possibly an avant-garde art installation? It's in a very remote area in the red rocks of Utah.

Per the CDC, IF YOU tested NEGATIVE but were EXPOSED to a COVID POSITIVE person for 15-minutes or more total within a 24hour period... the quarantine period might be reduced to 7 or 10 days from the now 14 days. Gotta be super clear 'cuz someone is bound to say CDC has "proven itself wrong again" and here is proof it's "trying to deceive us", or some such nonsense, LOL. Science, when wrong, has only ever been corrected by more and better science, not irrational, magical thinking.

The HSA card was right here, in the family room. He wanted to compare something or another with his, IDK what. He claims he gave it back. It's not in my wallet or anywhere in my purse. We've searched for about 2 weeks. There's a fee, but nowhere does it tell me in what amount? I guess that part is meant to be a surprise? Anyway, card's gone; may be with the missing grape and the missing time from a while back. Whoo-ooo?? Yeah! That's the ticket!

Some encouraging take-aways from the Talk Heathen show. Numerous younger callers describing their quest for truth about 'god'. Nature (wiccan type), ancient polytheist (Norse, Celt, Aboriginal type), a (modified) Hindu, a universal consciousness -- all ideas reject the misogynistic, sadistic monotheist god of Abraham (Abram) or Arjuna. "Influencers" are having difficulty figuring out how to market to the so-called 'nones'. I don't subscribe to the "conscious", active agent idea, but at least they're thinking beyond their indoctrination. Well, until 1 caller took a sudden right turn to the mark of the beast and the end times... that was funny! The hosts ask the questions that try to keep the callers thinking. Great show

Speaking of misogynistic, narcissistic, liar-leaders, where would we be without TOB showing what "unfit for office" really means these past 4 years? More on this ridiculousity will be linked here once I gather my draft notes and images, LOL. For now, enjoy Don Caron's parody.

My blog on the history of Thanksgiving will be linked here once I get my drafts and notes together. It is not a celebration of the massacre of native people in North America (though our ancestors did do that).
