The Powers That Be

Hello Thoughtful Thursday. The "Christian Nationalist" agenda has undertaken its boldest step yet. Following their loving god's message "I did not come to bring peace, but a sword"; "For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against..." Even in your own house, if they don't look like you or think like you, they can be discarded. "If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one" (so you appear to be a typical band of sword-wielding zealots, per the apologists). "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? …" (Luke 12:49). This hatred of "other", the brown-skinned, those who don't think or believe like you, those who dare demand equal rights (how dare they!) is not new to TOB's reign. It's been happening for years. TOB's audacity and open display of narcissism only exacerbated it, carried it to the extreme, brought it into the light. The hate was kindled long ago and has been smoldering for years.

Have you noticed the difference in the police response? The massive display of force against the Black Lives Matter protestors (mostly black and brown people who've been subjugated for years) and the minimal police presence for a large gathering of mostly white male protestors (who didn't get their way in an election count)? That alone shows how entrenched this "Protect Our Borders", "Law & Order" fantasy has become. Think people. The hypocrisy of our leaders has never been clearer. The acceptance of the supernatural over science is pure ignorance. Embracing teachings of "don't think, just have faith" instead of education and critical thought is dangerous in more ways than helping spread a virus, for instance. Education and critical thought help you see when TPTB are trying to manipulate you. Propaganda is a powerful weapon.

You can learn to recognize truth (not someone's truth but the truth). There may be two or more conclusions, but there is one truth. 1)The sun is there, about 93-million miles away,  2)The sun allows life as we know it to exist on this planet. 3)Humans need some sunlight exposure so our bodies can make an essential vitamin. 4)Exposure to sunlight for too long may cause skin cancer, especially in light-skinned people. All of these are true statements (assuming we have a standard accepted frame of reference for what a human is, LOL) We can see the sun and can mathematically measure the distance to it. We know or can find evidence of the truth of the three statements following the first. Compare to statement 1A)The sun is within the dome of the firmament. 2A)So we know the earth is flat because the ice-edge around Antarctica is held in place by the firmament. 3A)And we know NASA lied to us about going to the moon because the firmament is in the way. 4A)We can do the math on the necessary curve of the firmament to see this. In this example, Statement 1A cannot be true on its face. Without a preceding true statement of what and where the firmament is we cannot evaluate the rest of the claim made in 1A. Statements 2A, 3A, and 4A can be dismissed without consideration until 1A is accepted.

Stop behaving like sheep. It's not a sin to think. People are equal. It's time we recognize and legislate like that. Elect informed representatives.
