Think - How Can You Not?

It's not even Thursday, but still, I think LOL. How do you stop yourself from having ideas, thoughts? How do you stop yourself from thinking? Why would you even want to? How can you look at a photo of someone with their hair sticking up and out all over and not think "jeez, s/he needs a brush"? Is that "judgmental"? Or is that just human? We have thousands of thoughts a day, some more significant than others. What shall I wear today? What must I do today? Where did I leave my shoes? Was that thing I just heard on the radio (TV, YouTube, whatever) true? It sounds kinda weird...

Know when someone is trying to manipulate you. Question everything that sounds a bit odd - the 2020 presidential election was stolen (but none of the other questions on the ballots that were cast that same election day were stolen)? The earth is flat (but we've known since antiquity that we can climb the hill to see farther)? It only takes a little to reject ridiculosity outright or if you're not certain, check with a valid source. Quora, Fox News, and similar are not valid sources, BTW. Reuter's fact-check and Snopes are good places to start any fact-checking. Numerous others are mentioned in this piece.

Just because someone you perceive to be an authority figure says something, it doesn't mean their claim is true. The concept that gender isn't just binary (male and female) has been known untrue for at least 5 years. It doesn't matter what an ignorant U.S. representative says, or how she mocks a colleague's child or claims that the bill “an attack on God’s creation”. That another addition to the Civil Rights Act is needed is just sad commentary. The Equality Act is meant to protect the rights of non-conforming gender identity individuals from the primitive superstitions of some people. In reality, the Equality Act should simply amend the Civil Rights Act to say that "All *people are born equal*, with equal responsibilities and equal rights". No one really disagrees with this concept, despite appearances. We can be so much better if we stop forming cliques of arbitrarily limited membership. I thought that was over in junior high school.
